Stephanie S. Green
Stephanie S. Green began her legal career with the Firm as a member of its transactional group, where her practice focused in institutional lending, municipal finance and commercial real estate. She also gained experience in commercial and asset-based lending and nursing home acquisitions and financings with the Real Estate Department of Sachnoff & Weaver, Ltd. before returning to Albert, Whitehead, P.C. in 2003 to pursue her interest in affordable housing transactions.
Ms. Green has experience representing equity investors, developers and institutional lenders in low-income housing tax credit transactions involving multi-tiered and municipal financings. Ms. Green also represents for-profit developers and institutional lenders in commercial real estate transactions. Additionally, she has worked on both tax-exempt and taxable financings involving governmental obligations, governmental revenue obligations, commercial paper, housing bonds, empowerment zone bonds, project finance, industrial development bonds, real estate investment trusts and tax increment financings.
Ms. Green has a special interest in the representation of creative artists and creative arts organizations in connection with commercial and performance spaces, affordable housing and creative placemaking endeavors.
Ms. Green received her Juris Doctor from the Illinois Institute of Technology/Chicago-Kent in 1997. She is licensed to practice in Illinois and is a member of the American Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association. Ms. Green is the immediate past President of the Board of Directors of The Renaissance Collaborative, Inc., a non-profit organization providing housing and supportive services in Chicago’s historic Bronzeville neighborhood, having served on the Board for nine years. Since 2001, Ms. Green has operated an online publication related to culturally-diverse events.
